The Lunge.

I have a friend, I wont name him, who has an unfortunate tendency. He calls it 'The Lunge'. It happens when he's talking to a girl he likes. Everything seems to be going well, she's laughing at his jokes, they might even be touching each others knees, lots of eye contact, flirting and then, just as its all coming together, he gets over excited and lunges in for a kiss. He is always a bit too early, scares the girl and ruins his chances. He has described it as only doing 85% of the work before trying to get paid.

Well America, today Art Brut are lunging at you for a kiss. Art Brut VS Satan was previously to be released May 12 but it is out today. Exactly 15% earlier than expected.

As far as your government is concerned. I don't live in America. So, obviously, I have no idea about the places you can buy our album from, so I cant link to them from here. I'm imagining its all the usual places though.

Off you trot, go and buy it. I hope we haven't scared you off.

Art Brut VS Satan is out today, for most people.

I was going to write something clever here. But Barnaby Fudge already put it so succinctly on the Art Brut website I am going to copy it verbatim....

Art Brut vs. Satan OUT MONDAY
Dearest Internet

The day is finally upon us. After the months of speculation, analysis and weight training our team is finally ready... Ready for the biggest fight of their lives and yours.

Art Brut vs. Satan will hit UK shelves Monday 20th April.

Cheering from the sidelines is no help to us or your fellow countrymen. Conscientious objection will not be tolerated. Sign up or be shamed...

In support of this, two enlisting offices will be playing host to our heroes -

Pure Groove Records, London, Monday 20th, 6pm

Banquet Records, Kingston, Thursday 23rd, 6pm

Remember, age limit is no issue so all those under 18s come and vent your licensing law frustration!

yours victorious

ROBOCOP KRAUS

I see Blur have handpicked the support bands for their reunion shows. In my opinion they've made some pretty unfortunate choices.

Art Brut have handpicked our support too. Proving if nothing else we have much better taste than Blur.

We have chosen The Robocop Kraus. We chose them even though they are one of the best live bands we've ever seen. We like a bit of a challenge.

Here is the video for their AMAZING single 'You Don't Have To Shout'

ALCOHOLICS UNANIMOUS

Despite there being no Top Of The Pops. Art Brut have a single out this week.

Here are three non TOTP related reasons why you should buy it.

1) The art work is buy Jeff Lemire so even if your not a fan of our music it makes a very nice ornament/little square poster to put on your wall. Although I have to let you know if your not a fan of our music it is a bit odd that you are reading my blog. Perhaps your lost and looking for the actual Argos.

2) Just Desserts. This is the B-Side to the CD and is also the extra Download track. Its a bit different to the Black Francis produced version you could find on the internet the other week.

I once got called 'Fatty Argos' by a Po-faced post punk revivalist  band on live television. Although not a retort to that, this song explains why I am a little bit 'festive'. I like Dessert a lot.

3) Positively 5th Street. This is the B-side on the Seven Inch. I really tried to get this song on the album it just didn't make it. Its a very bitter song about hanging around with people that bring you down.

As well as 'Just Desserts' and ' Weird Science' we're going to be playing 'Positively 5th Street' live when we tour.

You can order the CD and Seven Inch HERE and Download it from Itunes HERE
